So after a foggy start to the morning, and a caffeine fuelled journey across the Pennines on the winding tarmac ribbon known as the M62, here I am sat in The Nook bar in Manchester Airport Terminal 3 awaiting the announcement of the departure gate with a cold bottle of Peroni to keep me company.

Waking this morning to the news that Manchester Airport has delays and cancellation due to a fuel supply issue caused by a power outage, was not the early morning reality check I needed. A quick check with the airport confirmed that my flight was not affected by this and was still running to schedule.

When I planned this little trip I could not of thought it would coincide with a couple of other interesting events.

The first is the release of the five part mini-series Chernobyl, which will no doubt spark more peoples interest in visiting the site of the worlds most serious nuclear accident ever.

The second being the Inauguration Day of the new Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. I know we look at our government and think of them as clowns, this Ukrainian comedian turn politician is now having the last laugh.
